Education

In 2021, we initiated a Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship program at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore, which is accredited by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education University. Currently, the fellowship spans one and a half years, with plans to extend it to two years pending university approval. We recently welcomed our fourth fellow. Annually, we serve approximately 2000-2500 pediatric rheumatology patients, encompassing a wide spectrum of conditions ranging from common ones like JIA and SLE to rare autoinflammatory diseases. Our outpatient department offers comprehensive care, and we conduct a weekly outreach clinic at the government children’s hospital, providing invaluable hands-on experience for our fellows. Additionally, our setup facilitates learning opportunities in musculoskeletal ultrasound and nail fold capillaroscopy. The fellowship is given after the completion of a mandatory exit exam.
